INKAS, a Canadian armoured vehicle manufacturer and systems integrator, says it has leased three additional production facilities in Canada and the United States as part of a North American expansion planned to be fully operational by July 31, 2026.

The company said the newly leased sites include an additional facility in Toronto, an armoured vehicle production facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a first facility in Florida at Fort Pierce.

INKAS said the facilities include about 42,000 square feet in Toronto, 200,000 square feet in Charlotte, and 31,000 square feet in Fort Pierce.

The company said the additional sites are expected to more than double its production space across North America. INKAS linked the expansion to increased demand from government, defence, law enforcement, commercial security and specialised vehicle customers.

INKAS said the expanded footprint is intended to provide additional manufacturing capacity and production flexibility across its armoured vehicle, tactical platform, drone/UAV and special-purpose vehicle lines. It also said the Charlotte facility is equipped for armoured vehicle production and located in an area with an experienced workforce in armoured vehicle manufacturing.

David Khazanski, CEO of INKAS, said in a statement that the expansion was intended to increase production capacity in Canada and the US and support demand for “protected mobility, unmanned systems, and specialised platforms”.

Margarita Simkin, chairwoman of INKAS, said the company expected the facilities to create jobs including engineers, technicians, production specialists and support roles across Canada and the United States.

INKAS said it has worked in the design, engineering and manufacturing of armoured vehicles for nearly three decades, with a portfolio that includes armoured SUVs and sedans, tactical vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, drones/UAVs, cash-in-transit vehicles and custom special-purpose platforms.
