Tiltan Software Engineering Ltd. says it has been awarded a contract by a global defence company to deliver a hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulation system to support development of a next-generation infrared (IR) electro-optical system.
The company said the system is intended to replicate operational environments in a laboratory setting so customers can develop, integrate, test and validate software, AI and hardware without relying as heavily on field trials.
According to Tiltan, the project will use its proprietary simulation technologies, including synthetic environments and digital twin capabilities, to recreate complex scenarios that can be difficult to reproduce consistently in the field.
The company argued that such simulation approaches can enable repeatable testing throughout the development lifecycle and reduce program risk.
Ehud Shafir, CEO of Tiltan Software Engineering Ltd., said the aim is to support faster development while maintaining accuracy by recreating complex operational environments in the laboratory.
