department13_logoDepartment 13 International (ASX : D13 or “the Company”) is this week demonstrating its MESMER counter-drone solution to potential defence, security and law enforcement customers from a range of federal and state government agencies in Queensland and the ACT.

Department 13 will host a demonstration at the Metricon Stadium in Carrara, the flagship venue for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. The MESMER demonstration will include a non-kinetic mitigation of multiple Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), performed simultaneously.

Additional demonstrations will be held at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) in Canberra on the 10th and 11th of November. The MESMER demonstrations are part of the Counter Non-Traditional Threats Conference and Exhibition at UNSW Canberra and are open to conference delegates, as well as non-registered conference attendees.

Hosting these presentations will be Department 13 CEO, Jonathan Hunter, and Warwick Penrose, Director of EPE, Department 13’s strategic partner and distributor across Australasia.  The demonstrations will feature the current capabilities of the MESMER technology, highlight recent trial successes and present the future technology roadmap.

MESMER can detect, identify and mitigate either hostile or nuisance drones across a range of national security, defence or commercial applications. The solution utilises patented protocol manipulation technology to take over the drone when it flies into a defined air space. Once the operator has control of the drone the threat can be mitigated in a way that is not dangerous to personnel or infrastructure in the area.

Department 13’s CEO Jonathan Hunter commented:

“On the back of our successful Sydney demonstration, we look forward to showcasing our MESMER counter-drone technology to potential defence and security customers representing a number of federal and state government agencies. We will showcase a non-kinetic mitigation of multiple drones utilising our MESMER solution at the primary venue for the 2018 Commonwealth Gates on the Gold Coast, which represents the sort of use case scenario which could be rolled out by Department 13 globally.”
