Arkeus has announced an expanded partnership with UK firm Tanglewood Group Ltd. to establish a joint manufacturing, engineering and customer support facility in Malvern, United Kingdom.
The companies said the Malvern site is intended to provide localised manufacturing, engineering, integration and through-life support for Arkeus systems for customers across the United Kingdom, NATO and the European Union. The move adds to Arkeus’ existing operations in Australia and the United States, where it has a facility in Virginia.
Arkeus chief executive and co-founder Simon Olsen said the aim was to position engineering and support closer to European and NATO users. He said the companies expected the local capability to shorten response times and accelerate integration and deployment.
Tanglewood Group co-founder and director Richard Glyn-Jones said the partnership would provide support closer to UK, European and wider NATO customers and contribute to what he described as a “sovereign UK capability” supported by secure supply chains.
The announcement centres on support for Arkeus’ Warden wide-area hyperspectral sensing system, which the company said combines hyperspectral sensing, edge AI and autonomous data exploitation to detect and track objects across land and maritime environments. Arkeus said Warden is designed for Tactical Uncrewed Aircraft Systems and operates passively, day and night, including in degraded visual conditions.
Arkeus said processing data at the edge is intended to reduce demands on operators and communications networks by delivering mission-relevant intelligence more quickly.
Malvern, the companies said, will also serve as a base for collaboration with European platform partners and end users as Arkeus expands deployment of its autonomous perception technologies across air, land and maritime applications.
