Uvision Group has completed its acquisition of SpearUAV, strengthening its position as a global leader in advanced loitering weapon systems and accelerating its strategy to deliver a unified, multi-layered approach to loitering munitions across all operational domains.
The acquisition integrates SpearUAV’s AI-driven, encapsulated loitering systems with Uvision’s established HERO family of loitering munitions. Together, the combined portfolio extends from platoon-level capabilities through to division and brigade echelons, offering defence customers a comprehensive suite of smart loitering solutions for reconnaissance, strike, electronic warfare and counter-UAS missions.
SpearUAV’s flagship Viper family — an encapsulated, AI-enabled loitering system designed for rapid deployment from land, air, sea and sub-sea platforms — forms the centrepiece of the acquisition. Marketed as a “battalion-level air force,” Viper systems provide persistent situational awareness, organic fires, EW options and C-UAS capabilities to units operating at the lowest tactical tiers. The systems are tailored for ground forces, naval vessels and submarines, where compact deployment and autonomous operation are critical.
Uvision’s HERO systems complement the Viper line by addressing higher-tier mission sets, including precision surveillance, target acquisition and long-range strike for tactical and operational formations. The integration of both product families is designed to establish a vertically layered loitering-munitions ecosystem with shared technological foundations, enabling customers to field interoperable capabilities across every level of combat.

Dr. Ran Gozali, CEO of Uvision, said the acquisition aligns naturally with the company’s long-term strategy and momentum. “We have great confidence in SpearUAV’s management team, technologies, innovation and capabilities,” he said. “As Uvision continues to expand — including our recent move into a new facility with advanced production, R&D and testing infrastructure — the merger strengthens our ability to deliver a robust and versatile product portfolio. By combining forces, we will deliver integrated solutions with greater operational impact and value to our customers.”
SpearUAV CEO Yiftach Kleinman said the acquisition builds on four years of close collaboration following Uvision’s earlier strategic investment. “This acquisition is first and foremost an achievement of SpearUAV’s team, whose innovation and professionalism have positioned the company as a global leader in encapsulated loitering weapon systems,” he said. “Joining forces under the Uvision group will allow us to expand our reach and deliver greater value to global customers.”
The consolidation reflects broader trends in the defence sector, as militaries seek more autonomous, distributed and multi-domain loitering solutions in response to lessons from recent conflicts. With demand for flexible, AI-enabled systems increasing, the combined Uvision–SpearUAV portfolio positions the company to play a larger role in the evolution of next-generation precision effects and organic ISR at scale.
