Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and Australia’s DefendTex have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore collaborative opportunities in platform-launched drones, munitions safety, and novel unmanned vehicle concepts for Singapore’s defence needs.
The partnership aims to leverage DefendTex’s expertise in rapid prototyping and development of next-generation autonomous systems and smart weapons to enhance the operational capabilities of the Singapore Armed Forces.
“We look forward to working with innovative tech collaborators such as DefendTex to bring fresh perspectives and enhance the development of next-generation unmanned systems for defence applications,” says DSTA Land Systems Director Alex Lee. “As security challenges continue to evolve, the ability to adapt quickly, experiment with robotics and autonomy, and pivot when needed will be critical in delivering impactful solutions. This collaboration underscores DSTA’s commitment to push the boundaries in these tech domains for the SAF to stay ahead.”
