New order for Slinger Counter-Drone Remote Weapon System

Electro Optic Systems (EOS) has secured a new international order for its Slinger counter-drone remote weapon system valued at €11.4 million (about A$20 million). The contract, placed by a Western European NATO member, will see systems delivered within the next six months to meet urgent operational requirements.
The order includes the Slinger weapon system along with spare parts, training and associated support items. EOS expects most of the revenue associated with the contract to be recognised in 2026.
The company says recent increases in drone activity and threat levels in parts of Western Europe have accelerated demand for counter-UAS capabilities. The Slinger system has been positioned by EOS as its flagship kinetic counter-drone solution.
EOS also provided an update on its wider contract backlog, noting that newly secured orders during 2025 have lifted the company’s unconditional backlog to more than A$400 million—almost three times the level recorded at the end of 2024. Based on current production schedules and customer requirements, EOS expects the majority of this backlog to convert to revenue across 2026 and 2027.
The company said it continues to pursue a pipeline of additional opportunities, though it cautioned that not all prospects will progress to binding contracts.
