Australian counter-unmanned aerial systems (CUAS) manufacturer, DroneShield has had active participation in Project FlyTrap, a multinational defence exercise led by the U.S. Army V Corps. Running from June to August 2025 across Germany and Poland, the exercise unites U.S. and UK forces to advance CUAS capabilities in response to evolving aerial threats on today’s battlefield.
With over 11 years specialising exclusively in CUAS, DroneShield has deployed nearly 4,000 units across more than 40 countries. Their technology has been combat-proven in Ukraine since the conflict began, demonstrating reliability and effectiveness in real operational environments.
Tom Branstetter, Vice President of Business Development and Sales at DroneShield, emphasised the importance of such exercises: “CUAS is no longer optional—it’s essential. We see exercises like Project FlyTrap as crucial to testing technology before it gets into the warfighter’s hands. We’re honoured that our technology is playing a role in shaping the future of CUAS operations and supporting the mission readiness of our allied forces.”
Project FlyTrap exemplifies the evolving collaborative counter-drone efforts among NATO allies, particularly in light of the increasing drone threats seen in recent conflicts such as Ukraine. DroneShield’s involvement not only reinforces its status as a trusted defence partner but also supports the development of future-ready CUAS solutions essential to modern military operations.
