Aeronautics Ltd. and Hungary-based 4iG Space and Defence Technologies (4iG SDT) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly supply unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and loitering munition (LM) capabilities to European customers, as demand for such systems continues to grow across the region.
The partnership will see the two companies offer a portfolio of tactical UAS and LM systems aimed at enhancing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), target acquisition and data-collection functions for defence users. The agreement also introduces the option for European system and subsystem manufacturing in Hungary, intended to improve supply-chain resilience and long-term sustainment support.
Under the arrangement, Aeronautics will contribute its three decades of operational experience and its Orbiter family of UAS and loitering munitions, which have been used extensively in conflict zones. 4iG SDT, part of the broader 4iG Group, will provide industrial capacity, integration expertise and regional market access.
Dan Slasky, president and CEO of Aeronautics, said cooperation with 4iG aligns with growing European interest in tactical UAS and loitering munition systems. “The European UAS and loitering munition market is rapidly growing,” Slasky said. “This partnership leverages 4iG’s strong footprint in Hungary and Europe alongside Aeronautics’ combat-proven expertise.”
4iG SDT chief executive István Sárhegyi said the agreement supports Hungary’s ambitions to expand its defence-industrial base and strengthen its role within NATO’s technology ecosystem. “Localisation of unmanned aerial systems plays a key role in building modern defence capabilities,” he said. “Working with Aeronautics will help position Hungary as a regional hub for UAS technologies.”
Details on timelines, specific systems and production plans were not disclosed, but both companies indicated that the cooperation is expected to support European customers seeking interoperable and NATO-compliant unmanned capabilities.
