SCD says it has secured three multi-million-dollar orders from international customers for its “HOT HD MWIR” infrared detectors.
The company said the detectors will be integrated into counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), long-range surveillance platforms, border protection systems and other homeland security applications.
While SCD did not name the customers or disclose the contract values, it said the orders point to increasing demand for mid-wave infrared (MWIR) sensors designed to operate at higher temperatures, reducing cooling requirements and supporting longer service life and lower maintenance needs.
SCD said its manufacturing capability spans infrared semiconductor production, detector fabrication, Dewar packaging, optical integration, cooled detector assembly and cooling technologies, and that it can deliver thousands of cooled MWIR detectors per month.
Chief executive Kobi Zaushnizer said customers are looking for suppliers that can deliver advanced detector technology at scale, with quality and supply continuity for long-term defence programs.
