Electro Optic Systems and Turkish defence contractor ROKETSAN enter strategic partnership

Electro Optic Systems (EOS) and Turkish defence contractor ROKETSAN have signed a strategic partnership agreement to collaborate on integrated laser weapon and counter-drone capabilities in selected markets.
The agreement was announced at the World Defense Show in Riyadh and establishes a framework for the two companies to jointly respond to future customer requirements involving directed energy and force protection systems.
EOS contributes high-energy laser and kinetic counter-drone technologies. In 2025, the company secured what it described as the first export contract for a 100 kilowatt-class high-energy laser system, awarded by the Netherlands. EOS has also entered into a conditional contract for a high-energy laser system with a customer in the Republic of Korea.
ROKETSAN brings experience in missile systems, defence platforms, sensors, systems integration and command-and-control architectures. The company has also developed directed energy solutions designed to address asymmetric threats.
Under the agreement, EOS and ROKETSAN will pursue opportunities in jointly identified markets where integrated counter-drone and force protection capabilities are required. The focus is on combining EOS’ laser effectors with ROKETSAN’s integration and defence platform expertise.
The partnership reflects increasing international interest in high-energy laser systems as part of layered air and drone defence architectures, particularly where integration with existing command-and-control and sensor networks is a requirement.
