Phybridge Inc., a provider of innovative voice over IP solutions infrastructure, announced that Cisco is officially offering its customers and partners a Cisco part number for the Phybridge 24 and 48 Port PoLRE (Power over Long Reach Ethernet) switches. Infrastructure barriers are stopping many Cisco customers from migrating to an all-IP Telephony platform. The award-winning Phybridge PoLRE switches are proven to eliminate these barriers and enable enterprises with legacy TDM phone systems or partially-deployed IP systems to migrate to an all-Cisco IP Telephony and Unified Communications platform.

Phybridge switches deliver Ethernet and Power over a single pair of wire (CAT3) with four times the reach of traditional Ethernet switches, transforming the existing voice infrastructure into a PoE network. There are several Cisco customers, such as New Mexico State University, who have benefited by using the Phybridge PoLRE switch. Benefits include:

  • Significantly lower infrastructure costs;
  • Shortened planning and deployment cycles;
  • A simple and highly-secure network to manage; and
  • A robust IP platform for Cisco IP Telephony, ensuring quality of service and voice continuity.

“The Phybridge PoLRE switch delivered exactly as prescribed. We reduced our deployment time and costs, and are gracefully migrating to Cisco IP Telephony, both on time and on budget,” said Ray Cadena, Manager of Telecommunications Systems at New Mexico State University. “I would highly recommend considering the many benefits the Phybridge PoLRE switch has to offer if you are considering a migration to IP Telephony.”

Until Phybridge introduced its switches to the market, many customers had to accept a compromised hybrid deployment and maintain digital endpoints due to local area network and infrastructure requirements. “There are many innovations incorporated in the design of the Phybridge PoLRE switches,” says Oliver Emmanuel, President and Founder of Phybridge. “They were designed from the ground up to make the migration to IP Telephony quick and easy while delivering a robust platform for IP voice and convergence.”

“The Cisco relationship is a significant milestone in our corporate development,” says John Croce, CEO of Phybridge. “Cisco’s leadership position and global reach will be a catalyst to our global expansion plans.”

“The initial feedback and number of opportunities that we are already working on with Cisco is higher than anything we experienced in our corporate history,” says Steven Fair, SVP of Phybridge. “We are excited and looking forward to the anticipated demand expected from this exciting relationship with Cisco.”
